This area will chronicle the YYZ news clips which don't deal with new Standings.

ROUNDING INTO SHAPE:  Activated a lot of the links for this season as of today.  Still have to get last season's stuff put over in the History section, but that should be by the end of the month.  I also have to update the Information links to valid sites.  If you have any good sites you want to share with everyone, please let me know!

PLEASE LOOK!  Always look over your Updates and Rosters carefully for errors.  My accuraccy is close to, but not at, 100%.  Someday, it might be your Update in that "less than 1%" mistake category.  Look for the following:  too many or too few GP, missing Special Events (OTG, OTA, HT, ect.), incorrect roster moves, wrong number of options, and overlooked WD picks.  Look as soon as you get a chance to, so any mistake can be corrected as soon as possible.  Remember, the final responsibility is YOURS to spot mistakes!

PRE-WAIVER DRAFT NOTES:  Clairity on your submittals is critical.  DO NOT submit a jumbled name of players with no roster designation and expect me to interpret your ramblings.  You are at my mercy when you get lazy like this.  Also, be very precise when you list players.  Use first name or initials, with team name, and position.  Again, if you choose not to, you take a real chance of not getting quite what you want.  Also, please look over the Rosters, and try not to submit players already on other teams.  And, if you have not clearly communicated who goes on what roster, I make the decision, as stated in the rules.

There are two rules you must have fulfilled after this first Waiver Draft.  (1) You must have 14 active players on your roster if you do not have players on IR OR, with my approval,  no fewer than 13 active players if you have at least 1 player on IR after Segment 2  AND (2)  You must have at least 2 healthy forwards and 1 healthy defenseman on your farm roster.  It is up to  YOU to turn in enough valid names to fulfill the 2 requirements.  Call me if you have any doubts as to who you have that's hurt or healthy.  Do not give me 10 names if you have 3 open spots and expect to survive.  I know the pickings are slim, but a warm body is better than no body (haha! "no body" =  "nobody"....get it now?).  Review the Waiver Draft rules here and the Participation Rule here.

If you have more than 1 player on IR, you'll have only 1 player available to take your open spot. It's your call on who comes in first if they play at the same time.  Otherwise, it's first back, first in lineup.   For you rookie YYZ teams, contact me for the ins and outs of Waiver Draft picking.  And for everyone, please get your selections in early by any method, and if you have any last-minute revisions, let me know before the deadline.  But please do not hit me with your 45-man list Monday at 6 PM.

PHONE ALERT!  Thanks to the Call Notes service of SBC, when you dial my home number, you will NOT get a busy signal again!  If you hit my message, then I can't pick up.  Also, I won't pick up if you're calling from a blocked or strange number I don't recognize, thanks to CallerID.  Lastly, as always, DO NOT ramble on about what day and or time it is when you call!!  (Sample:"Hi, it's.......uh.........Tuesday...uh.....the 23rd........um.........it's about.......let's see.......around 6 o'clock.")  In case you're not up on the technology, every answering machine sold in the last several years has a time/date stamp.  Get one if you don't have one yet, but  don't waste your and my time by repeating what the machine already told me before I heard your message! (Vent mode off....a personal peeve of mine.)
